Wie aan mousserende wijnen denkt, denkt vaak aan champagne. Sterker nog, we gebruiken de naam champagne vaak (onterecht) voor alle mousserende wijnen. Maar dicht bij Barcelona ligt een bijzondere wereld van bubbelwijnen die steeds meer bekendheid krijgt: Corpinnat. Voor Nederlandse groepen die de stad bezoeken, is dit dé kans om kennis te maken met deze unieke (nieuwe) Spaanse traditie. Wat is Corpinnat? Veel mensen die Barcelona bezoeken kennen de wijn Cava ongetwijfeld. De bekende mousserende wijn uit Spanje. Sinds 2018 is er het label ‘Corpinnat’, een exclusief kwaliteitslabel voor mousserende wijnen uit de regio Penedès, het hart van de Catalaanse wijnproductie. Het label werd opgericht door een groep wijnmakers die zich wilden onderscheiden van de standaard cava-productie. Cava wordt namelijk ook buiten de Penedès regio gemaakt.
